Houston Health Museum!

Today, we made a lovely trip to the Houston Health Museum! On Thursdays from 2-5pm  admission is free!

We started in the theater first:
Here we are ready for the 4-D experience of  Planet You to start!

 4-D is so cool!
Then we proceeded to enter the Human Body exhibit!

The Voice box/ vocal cords! You get to watch this AMAZING  video of live footage of this organ at work! SUPER COOL!!!

This rope is 27 feet long = how long our small intestine is in our body!!!!
You can pull it to get a grasp of how longggg it truly is!

You put one of the different kidneys in and
the guy's face appears and tells you
about the health/condition its kidney is in!

Here it is! That 10 ft tall, giant sized BRAIN!!!

Quizzing ourselves on the functions of different parts of the brain!
Inside the brain!!! Heeehee!
The neurons inside!

Loved this! The camera does not quite show it, but it looks like you can grasp the apple in the air, but you cannot- it is just an illusion! The REAL apple is underneath with a rounded mirror reflecting the image up just like our eye does! :)

DNA double-helix! Oh yeah! Love it!

The EAR!!
Testing 1..2...3
Cool! Everything is Texas-sized! ;)

Actual bones!!! Cool!

           The Amazing Scream Box!!!

You get inside and scream as loud as you can!!! What a blast!!!
"ROAR...louder than a lion!"
I was able to scream louder than a Lion! Oh yeah!!!
(my favorite part)

A device on the outside measures how high you scream then there is a chart to compare to other loud noises...

Riding along side a skeleton!

As you move, the bones that you are using move as well!

The ceiling...inside the Thoracic cavity ;)

the GIANT eye!
My reflection in the pupil of the giant eye
SOOO COOL!! SEE THE SNAKES MOVING???

The Lungs

The throat...up above

Having fun crawling through the teeth! :)

Nice mouth! :)

Over all, we had a great time with lots of hands on learning and discovering the amazing body system!

Then we sang on the way home!!! :)
